Letter to Sir William Johnson, 1761 December 26.

Letter to Sir William Johnson congratulating him on his successful conference with several tribes of Indians at Detroit. He asks that Kayashota, Seneca messenger, be banned from their posts due to the "treacherous" behavior of the tribe. He is surprised at the amount of presents given during tribal negotiations and asks for more emphasis on friendly trade rather than bribery. He sends two warrants for Johnson's accounts to cover expenses. A postscript speaks of an Oneida Indian in their care who died. Engraved portrait of Amherst included, dated 1792.
